Clean Water

Local Development Information

Information you must know:

  • The City of Oceanside requires all developers or contractors to update their erosion control plans yearly. This may include additional processing fees.
  • We have recently updated our grading and erosion control ordinances to reflect newly issued urban runoff requirements for the County of San Diego. Click to view Grading Ordinance 81-20 (148 KB), Erosion Control Security Ordinance 82-43 (148 KB), and Erosion Control Requirements Ordinance 82-15 (148 KB).
  • To view the entire Construction Urban Runoff Requirements Manual, click here (222 KB). This manual is part of our Chapter 40 Urban Runoff Requirement Ordinance (240 KB) and more fully details the measures construction sites must take to be in compliance with local storm water regulations.
  • All developers and contractors should be aware of the new Hydrostatic Test and Potable Water Discharge Permit (R9 2002-0020) issued by the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board last year. Attached is a copy of the permit (815 KB), the powerpoint presentations given at a recent seminar to explain the permit requirements, and a copy of the Best Management Practices Field Manual (589 KB).
